Google and Apple are making the technology in two stages in iOS and Android operating systems. In mid-May, both companies claimed to have developed technology in the features of iPhones and Android phones. This will make it easier for people connected in healthcare to share information through the application. Along with this, a blueprint for managing the health application will also be introduced. This means that if a user is found to be Covid-19 positive and adds his data to the public health application, then the users who had come in contact with the victim earlier will get their contract notified. This time can be 14 days, but the agencies working in the health sector can decide the time according to their own. In the second phase, both companies will add technology directly to their operating systems. So that the 'contact tracing' software can run. There is no need to download the application to do this.
Even before the arrival of technology, it is seen that there is a shadow of controversy on it. This technique is controversial because it is feared to be a violation of privacy. Although people can share sensitive information related to health through a mobile device, their location will be continuously known. However, companies claim that location data is not collected and neither companies can view the data. Google and Apple say that their system can be shut down at the time of need. Attempting contact-tracing technology is not the first step for either of the two companies. Google has launched a website related to Covid-19 information in March, while Apple has released its screening tools for iPhone users. The two companies said in a joint statement, "There has not been such an important time before to come together to solve the world's most serious problem." Apart from this, many other organizations are also working on the contact-tracing system. Researchers at MIT have already announced similar technology plans.
