Samsung has patented a new smartphone selfie camera design. This smartphone will have a status indicator in the five hole camera. This status indicator will be found in both single and dual five hole displays. The company filed five patents with the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) in October last year. All these were focused on the patented selfie camera. According to a report by GizmoChina, a status indicator will be placed around the punch hole camera in Samsung's phone.
Samsung is not the only company working on under-display camera technology. Oppo and Xiaomi have already showcased their prototypes with under-display cameras. Apart from this, Huawei can also bring under-display camera technology to its smartphones. Some reports have stated that the biggest challenge facing under-display camera technology is the lack of adequate lighting, which greatly impacts camera quality.
